Amanda J. Spencer hails from Colonia Dublán in Chihuahua, Mexico where she graduated from the Juarez Stake Academy, a fully bilingual curriculum integrated to meet both U.S. and Mexican educational standards.  She then graduated from Brigham Young University with a major in Latin American Studies.  She has been practicing law in San Antonio since graduating early from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2006 and passing the Texas State Bar in May of 2007.  She is currently a member of several legal institutions including the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Texas State Bar and San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association.

Amanda has been invited frequently by the Texas State Bar Workers’ Compensation Section to speak to her peers at its annual Advanced Workers’ Compensation Conference.  She has presented on and written or co-authored papers on topics such as Designated Doctors, Traumatic Brain Injuries, COVID as an Occupational Disease, Lifetime Income Benefits, and Supplemental Income Benefits.

In 2016, Amanda joined The Espinoza Law Firm of counsel, handling the workers’ compensation claims in addition to her private practice.  In 2019, when The Espinoza Law Firm expanded, Amanda officially joined the Firm and integrated her practice, becoming a partner and head of the Workers’ Compensation Department. The department continues to grow and help more injured workers every day.

Amanda was honored by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization by earning her Board Certification in Workers’ Compensation Law as of December 2019, after completing their rigorous testing and peer reviewing standards.  She is currently the only board-certified workers’ compensation claimant’s attorney in the greater San Antonio metropolitan area.

Amanda has tried thousands of cases through the administrative court, resolving many at the Benefit Review Conference level and pursuing others through the Contested Case Hearing and Appeals Panel review.  Amanda is known for her empathy for clients, her passion in the courtroom, and creative negotiation for resolutions of claims.
