Amanda Spencer

Attorney at Law

Amanda J. Spencer was born in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico and raised in the beautiful neighboring town of Colonia Dublán.  She completed her high school education with honors in the bilingual English/Spanish program at the Academia Juárez before moving to Utah to further her education.  After completing her Associates Degree at Utah Valley State College, now UVU, cum laude she transferred to Brigham Young University to graduate with her bachelors, majoring in Latin American Studies in 2002.

After four years of experience in law enforcement as a police, fire and medical dispatcher, Amanda sought to further her ability to help the those in need by attending law school at St. Mary’s University.  While there, Amanda began clerking at a workers’ compensation firm and focused her studies in that area by completing two theses projects to educate claimants and medical providers in the Texas Workers’ Compensation System.  After graduating early in 2006 and passing the Texas State Bar in 2007, Amanda immediately started her own workers’ compensation practice that she has run as a solo practitioner ever since.

Amanda has tried thousands of cases through the administrative court, resolving many at the Benefit Review Conference level and pursuing others through the Contested Case Hearing and Appeals Panel review.  Amanda is known for her empathy for clients, her passion in the court room, and creative solutions in mediations.  While she has experience in social security, civil, criminal and family litigation, Amanda’s true passion and main thrust of her legal focus has always been workers’ compensation.

In 2016, Amanda joined The Espinoza Law Firm of counsel, handling all of the workers’ compensation claims in addition to her private practice.  In 2019, when The Espinoza Law Firm expanded into the Heritage Blvd Building, Amanda moved in-house and became a partner in The Espinoza Law Firm in charge of the Workers’ Compensation Department.  Together with associate attorney, Jesse Bustillos and five amazing support staff, the department continues grow and help more injured workers every day.
